Pickled deviled Spring Mtn. egg with University of Georgia Caviar and Crabtree Chives, an amuse-bouche at The 100 Dinner
Gaining Ground is a local organization of purveyors, farmers, and others committed to raising awareness, consumption, and production of local food. The work they do ultimately raises the quality of life in our community, and I'm very pleased to have written a guest post over on their blog recapturing my experience at Crabtree Farms' "100 Dinner" that was held this past June. It was a fresh, four course feast of local foods prepared by Chattanooga chefs Daniel Lindley, Eric Taslimi, and Matt Marcus held at an idyllic long white table in the fields of Crabtree, and funds raised from ticket sales were used to benefit Crabtree's myriad education and outreach programs.
The evening was a welcome respite of slow food and community as well as a celebration of the cuisine, culture, and people of Tennessee. If you would like to view more photos of the dinner and read more about the phenomenal dishes, picturesque evening, and what I think the very heart of local food is please come visit me here on Gaining Ground Chattanooga.

How fun to be asked to do a guest post. Your photos are perfection, I'm off to Gaining Ground for the full story....I love food, I want that egg. xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I especially love the dramatically melting ice cream (gelato?).
